Questions before development

Is a prototype ready for production?

Not automatically. A prototype is built to answer a question. Production readiness may require additional security work, reliability engineering, accessibility, testing and operating documentation.

Can the result be a recommendation not to proceed?

Yes. Finding that an approach is unsuitable can be a valuable result. The report should explain the evidence, unresolved questions and alternatives without treating development as the only outcome.

How is research kept within scope?

The work starts with a limited set of questions, representative inputs and decision criteria. New questions are recorded and prioritized rather than silently expanding the experiment.
